Foundation Diploma in Art and Design

Picture

Chelsea College of Art and Design
University of the Arts London
Milbank, London, UK
2006-2007

This course covers 3 areas: Art (including, painting, sculpture, drawing and mixed media), Design (including visual communications, fashion/textiles, and three-dimensional design) Media (including animation, film and video, and photography). Start with rotation weeks, then you have to choose one of the pathways. I chose Fashion/Textiles. The course focus on how to generate the ideas and turning your ideas into visual statements. There are not much about making skills and the end products.

(I lost almost all of the photos I took after my computer crashed, so only the projects in Fashion/Textile pathway are shown.)

Winter and Summer

As I was born and grown up in a tropical country, I was fascinated by the season change when I arrived in the UK. This project based on contrast between colour and texture of fabrics used in winter and summer wear. This is a small project done during one month holiday.

Bio-Engineering Project

I did a lot of experiment with latex in this project. The photographs are quite nice but the outcome are disgusting. It was a project I enjoy the most in this course. It was fun and smelly.

It's a Weird Project!!!

This is a final project. As my previous projects were quite neutral, they kept on saying that I needed to use more colour. So I set up this project to be fun, colourful and imaginative. I created animal (and human) body parts which you can play with, mix them up and create your weird ones!!!
